How does a Timeless message get delivered?

A Timeless message has no delivery date. When the moment arrives, you release it yourself. If you cannot, the Guardians you nominate release it for you. Unlike services that fire on an inactivity timer, a person who knows you decides it is time.

Most people schedule these for a milestone rather than a date: a wedding day, a milestone birthday, a graduation. You can nominate more than one Guardian, choose what each of them is allowed to do, and let one of them hand the responsibility on if they can no longer carry it.

Guardians are not only for Timeless messages. You can add them to a scheduled message too, so someone can keep the recipient reachable if an email address changes in the years before it is due.

What happens if a Guardian doesn't trigger the message?
You can assign multiple guardians to a single message, and any one of them can trigger delivery. The message author can also trigger delivery themselves at any time while they are still active. We recommend assigning at least two trusted people so there is always a backup.
Can I change my Guardian later?
Yes. You maintain full ownership and control over your vault. You can update, change, or remove Guardians at any time through your dashboard before the message is delivered.
How secure is the 20-year vault?
Extremely secure. All messages are encrypted with zero-knowledge AES-256 encryption at rest and SSL/TLS in transit. Only you and your designated recipients can access the unencrypted content when triggered.
What are the upcoming vault extension options?
While the default vault stores messages securely for up to 20 years, upcoming vault extension options will allow users to extend storage further, for messages meant to last across generations.
