Commission is earned on subscriptions that start on the web. We are working on supporting in-app purchases for the referral programme as well, and we will tell you directly when that changes.

Getting paid
When a client buys, your commission is held as pending for 5 days. After that it clears into your available balance. Once your available balance reaches $50 you request a payout and we send it in USD by Wise or PayPal.

One tax form before your first payout
You fill it in online and sign it electronically. Nothing to print, nothing to scan. W-8BEN if you are outside the US, W-9 if you are in the US.
A W-8BEN stays valid until the end of the third calendar year after you sign it, so this is a once every three years task.
Questions
Does it cost anything to join?
No. There is no fee to join and no minimum audience size. You get a referral link and you earn when someone you introduced buys a paid plan.
When do I get paid?
There are two stages. When a client buys, your commission is held as pending for 5 days, which gives a refund time to come through before the money is treated as yours. After 5 days it clears into your available balance. Once that balance reaches $50 you can request a payout from your dashboard, and it reaches you 1 to 5 business days later. Some local payout methods take longer depending on your bank and country.
Why do I need to submit a tax form?
We are required to hold a tax form on file before sending your first payout. If you are outside the US that is a W-8BEN, and if you are in the US it is a W-9. You fill it in online and sign it electronically, there is nothing to print or scan. A W-8BEN stays valid until the end of the third calendar year after you sign it.
Am I an employee or an agent of MessageFuture?
No. You are an independent contractor. You are responsible for reporting and paying tax on what you earn in your own country, and you cannot present yourself as speaking on behalf of MessageFuture.
What if my client asks for a refund?
Commission on a refunded purchase is reversed. We also withhold or reverse commission in cases of fraud or self referral, meaning referring yourself or an account you control.
Do I get any help explaining it to clients?
Yes. Once you are accepted we send you the programme details and training material, so you can show a client what MessageFuture does and walk them through setting up their first message without having to work it out yourself.
Can my client use the mobile app?
Yes. The subscription starts on the web through your referral link, and from then on they can sign in and use MessageFuture on iPhone, Android and the web, with everything included in their plan. Commission is earned on subscriptions that start on the web. We are working on supporting in-app purchases for the referral programme as well and will tell you when that changes.
Can I refer on behalf of my company?
This programme is for individuals. If you represent an insurer, a law firm or another organisation, our partnership programme is set up for that instead, with issued code blocks and a shared dashboard.
